Biography
Rev. Sam Sandler—America’s Premier Deaf Illusionist—has performed over 9,000 shows across 46 states, blending powerful storytelling, grand illusions, and bold faith.
But his journey here wasn’t easy.
In 2005, Sam began to lose his hearing due to a rare genetic condition. By 2009, he was completely deaf. As a single father, raising his young daughter alone, the loss hit hard. He felt abandoned by God. Then came the foreclosure of his home. He sold nearly everything he owned just to buy food and pay bills—until he was left with nothing.
Sam will tell you, he didn’t handle it well. For over a year, he complained and pulled away from God, convinced he was unloved and forgotten. But one day, broken and desperate, he fell to his knees. That’s when God opened his eyes—not to his circumstances, but to his attitude. In that moment of surrender, Sam realized, God had never left. He was writing a greater story.
Embracing his deafness, Sam ran back to God and launched a bold mission—to unleash the truth of God’s love through the art of magic, laughter, and testimony. His shows don’t just wow—they minister. They meet people where they are and lead them to truth and transformation.
Called “a lighthouse of the Christian message” by the International Fellowship of Christian Magicians and “a powerful speaker” by Jews for Jesus, Sam also champions the Deaf community—where he’s often struggled to feel included in church, yet continues to open doors for others like him.
Sam is also a national Deaf Disc Golf Champion, a dedicated dad of two daughters, married to a wonderful wife who helped restore his heart and loneliness and a man who lives to prove that no matter how broken, God is still in the business of restoration.
